1. What documents are needed to apply for a building permit?

2. How do I get the measurements of my property?

A surveyor can be hired to find your property corners. However, we can provide you with a print out of the subdivision showing the dimensions of your property.

3. What are the setbacks required on my property?

The subdivision plat where your property is located has the recorded setbacks for your lot.

4. What do I need to do to subdivide my property?

There are State and County requirements that must be met before you can subdivide your property. The process is long and we generally meet with the applicant to explain what is required.

5. How long before my utilities are connected?

We do not control the time it takes for the utility company to connect services. We can provide you with the contact number for the utility company so that you may follow up with them on the connection date.

6. What type of construction can I do on my property (commercial, residential, multi-family, etc.)?

We first have to review your deed and then list the different type of requirements for the type of use, if allowed.

7. What is the status of my proposed subdivision?

Staff will review all items for compliance / completeness and forward written comments that should be followed to ensure timely approval.
