1. How do I change my address?

For address changes, any type of written request is acceptable. Date and signature is required. Requests must be made by property owner. Fax your address correction to (956) 318-2025 or mail your request to:

2. Where do I go to register for Electronic Tax Statements?

Click the green link ‘Register for Certified Statements by Email’ in your Property Tax Balance page before September 15 to receive Electronic Tax Statements.

3. How can I change ownership on my property?

A copy of the legal document is required for ownership correction. The document must be recorded at County Clerks Office. Unrecorded documents are not acceptable.

5. Who can pay property taxes?

Anyone can pay property taxes. However, paying taxes does not make you the owner. The property owner is the person listed on the recorded legal document.

6. When are tax statements mailed out?

Tax statements are mailed out in October or soon thereafter.

7. What if I do not receive my statement by October or soon thereafter?

It is the taxpayers responsibility to contact the taxing entities (county, school, or city) if you did not receive your tax statement.

8. Where can I pay my property taxes?

At any tax office location and in the months of November, December and January at any Lone Star National Bank location in Hidalgo County. However, an original tax statement stub is required to pay at a Lone Star National Bank location.
