Hidalgo County adds 19 cases to virus count, 37 cleared in total

On Tuesday, the number of coronavirus cases rose by 19 in Hidalgo County, according to a release. Among the new cases, 15 involve female patients.

Officials say of the number of active cases, 33 patients are hospitalized, including six in intensive care units.

Hidalgo County judge: ‘This is not the time to relax our community controls’

The next 10 days will be critical in assessing how effective early efforts at slowing the spread of COVID-19 in Hidalgo County.

That’s according to Hidalgo County Judge Judge Richard F. Cortez in a 10-minute long video message he delivered Tuesday, saying “this is not the time to relax our community controls.”

Rio Grande Valley Coronavirus Cases Continue To Rise

The number of people testing positive for the coronavirus in Hidalgo County has gone over 200. County health officials Tuesday confirmed 19 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total to 217. Among the active cases, 33 are being treated in the hospital, 6 in intensive care.
