As part of National County Government Month, students from Palmview High School participated in RGV LEAD Job Shadow Day at the Hidalgo County Courthouse. The students were able to “shadow” court and District Clerk staff performing their daily responsibilities and activities. While sitting in the 93rd District Court, shadowing Judge Rudy Delgado, senior Omar Olguin stated that he found it very interesting and is looking forward to a career where is he is able to give back to the community. At the same time, Eric Sandoval shadowed 92nd District Court Judge Ricardo Rodriguez, and said he was excited to be participating and that he would use this experience to help him decide on what career he would chose to follow after he graduates. Marcos Garza shadowed District Clerk Laura Hinojosa in her office. The students are a part of the RGV Lead (Tech Prep) program and were interested in a career in criminal justice. County officials were pleased to participate in this valuable learning opportunity for these students.
