[ARCHIVED] DECLARATION OF SUPPORT - CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER

Commissioners' Court approved a Declaration of Support for the Children's Advocacy Center, Estrella's House of Hidalgo County. President of the Board Tina Martin, Interim Executive Director Vicki Medina, Community Outreach Coordinator Kristy Meyer, and Marketing & Event Planner Pat Blum discussed the role of the Children's Advocacy Center, Estrella's House, whose mission is to reduce the emotional trauma to child abuse victims and support the prevention of child abuse. Children's Advocacy Center provides a safe haven for young victims; services include child forensic interviews, evaluations, family advocate, and mental health services, and prevention, education and outreach. The approved declaration supports the efforts of the Children's Advocacy Center, Estrella's House to raise funds to support its activities and services through an event, Vinos!, which will be held in McAllen on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
