[ARCHIVED] Sheriff's Office East Sub-Station Ground Breaking

Sheriff Lupe Trevino, Precinct 1 Commissioner Joel Quintanilla, and County Judge Ramon Garcia were all on hand, along with numerous local and state representatives, to celebrate the Ground Breaking of the new Sheriff's Office East Sub-Station located in Weslaco.

The new facility is expected to be completed within the next 10 months and is expected to save the County a lot of money and time; the nearest located Sheriff's Office is in Edinburg. Sheriff Lupe Trevino has worked long and hard to bring build a station in a more localized area and his work will soon come to fruition. Commissioner Quintanilla, the Commissioners' Court, and Judge Ramon Garcia have also worked hard in making the project a reality.

Various deputies were on hand for the celebration and cannot wait for their new building to be completed. The sub-station will be the first facility centrally located and will serve neighboring areas some of which include: Mercedes, Progreso, Donna, Edcouch-Elsa, and La Villa. Salomon Torres, a representative from Congressman Ruben Hinojosa's office, was also in attendance on the Congressman's behalf and presented Sheriff Trevino with a Certificate of Recognition for his dedication and work in getting the building completed.
