EDINBURG, TX – Hidalgo County Tax Assessor-Collector Armando Barrera reminds all property owners that property taxes must be paid in full by the deadline of Jan. 31 to avoid penalties and interest. Property taxes for the year 2010 become delinquent on February 1, 2011.

Paying taxes is now easier than ever. With the recent opening of the new Pharr Sub-Station at the Pct. 2 Administration Complex, there are now a total of six office locations where taxes can be paid, or property owners can choose to pay online at for a small convenience fee. Payments are also accepted at all First National Bank locations in Hidalgo County. Residents’ current tax statements are required to make payments.

Additional tax information is available at or by accessing the county’s primary online portal

If you own any type of property in Hidalgo County but have not received a statement, please call the Hidalgo County Tax Office immediately at (956) 318-2157. Failure to receive a statement does not affect the validity of the tax, penalty or interest, or due date.
