The District Clerk, together with the County and District Courts in the County of Hidalgo are committed to educating the public about jury duty and the importance of jury service, applauding the efforts of jurors who fulfill their civic duty.
Last week Commissioners Court proclaimed the week of April 30 through May 4 as Jury Appreciation Week.
Today, over 100 jurors gathered at the Hidalgo County Courthouse, District Clerk office in observance of the celebrated week. Hidalgo County District Clerk Laura Hinojosa and staff served refreshments to jurors, and had door prizes donated by local businesses to have a special day for jurors.
“It’s an amazing thing we do with our government and you’re a part of it,” said 376 District Court Judge Noe Gonzalez. “We try and make this day special for jurors to serve their duty.”
