Hidalgo County received three awards from the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors at its annual conference and video programming awards, reported Public Affairs Director Julia Sullivan.

"Over 200 entries from 22 jurisdictions throughout the state were submitted, and Hidalgo County received three thanks to the talent of our Multimedia Coordinator Jaclyn Treviño," Sullivan said.

"I want to thank Judge Garcia, the entire Commissioners Court and the Executive Office for their continued support in the Public Affairs Department," said Treviño. "I also want to thank my director, Julia Sullivan, for her unwavering support. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with all of the departments to showcase all of the great initiatives and work they do for our Hidalgo County constituents."

The awards included third place in Community Event Coverage for the 2016 National Night Out; third place for the Stop Illegal Dumping public service announcement; and third place for Overall Excellence in Programming.

"I want to commend Ms. Treviño for her work and bringing statewide recognition to Hidalgo County," said County Judge Ramon Garcia. "I also commend the Public Affairs Division for getting our videos broadcast on community stations throughout Hidalgo County through Interlocal Agreements; for working to create a Hidalgo County TV station; and for the work being done to create new programming."

Sullivan also praised Treviños work, including the production of Commissioners Court meetings, which are live-streamed and uploaded to the county's YouTube Channel, website, and shared with partnering institutions. Residents can watch Commissioners Court on at 9 p.m. on Thursdays following the Tuesday meetings on KMBH cable channel 10.

“I appreciate the opportunity to film events and commercials for the county and I look forward to expanding those video projects next year," said Treviño.
