Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Joseph Palacios recognized the Edinburg Leadership Class XXVIII during Tuesday's court meeting.

These year's class is comprised of 12 young professionals. In attendance at today's meeting were John R. Garza (DHR), Sergio Molina (Pointer Realty), Diana Munoz (Towne Place Suites by Marriott), George Garcia (Rio Grande Valley Mobile X-Ray), Alice Roman (Legacy Chapels), Veronica Moreno (Memorial Funeral Home), Ryan Yoder (Hacienda Ford), and Travis J. McAlpine (DHR).

On Friday, Feb. 17, Commissioner Palacios was invited to speak to the group of young professionals about the inner workings of county government. During the presentation, students were able to learn and ask questions regarding the county's role in our community.

The Edinburg Leadership group was created 28 years ago by the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, in an effort to bring emerging leaders together to better the community. To qualify, each of these individuals must show past evidence of community involvement and express a desire for future leadership. In return, Leadership Edinburg commits to provide distinct learning environments, which will improve its member's leadership skills and opportunities.
