Commissioners Court approved a funding request of $50,000 in support of the Children's Advocacy Center, also known as Estrella's House.
“Your contribution does not only translate into services for children, but it’s also an affirmation that this Court supports all of its constituents and especially cares for the most vulnerable,” said Executive Director Victoria Medina. “For every dollar we receive we are eligible for $4 from federal funding. I cannot underestimate the value that this Court really gives us.”
Medina reported that the Center saw 1,208 victims in 2015 and that it is on track to match those numbers in 2016. The Center assists children ages two-17 years.
"We have doubled in size with the goal to reach more children and provide more for our youngsters in crisis," Medina said.
