Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer and second most common cause of cancer-related death among Texas women. But it’s also important to note that breast cancer doesn’t only affect women, according to the American Cancer Society, about one in 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in his lifetime.
This month-long observance is dedicated to educating the public about breast cancer, preventative measures and the importance of early detection.
Members from the Cancer Center at Renaissance were on hand to speak about breast cancer and handed out educational material to all the community members in the audience as well as to Commissioners Court.
