The Hidalgo County Commissioners Court commemorated Edwards Abstract and Title Company's 135 year anniversary by honoring them with a resolution. Edwards Abstract and Title Co. is the largest independently owned title insurance provider in the South Texas region with seven locations spread across Hidalgo and Cameron counties.
Founded in 1880 by Judge James Henry Edwards, the company was eventually purchased by Byron Jay Lewis in 2001. During Lewis’ tenure the company has introduced state of the art technology and equipment, offering the most innovative products and services.
Edwards Abstract and Title Co. is a strong philanthropic supporter and contributor, volunteering and giving back to community organizations such as Rotary Clubs, local Chambers of Commerce, Women’s Council of Realtors, Rio Grande Valley Builders Association, and Hidalgo County Bar Association.
Lewis, who presently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, and Elva Jackson Garza, Vice President of Marketing, thanked the court for the recognition. Lewis invited the court and the public to celebrate the 135 year anniversary during their ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
