Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office brought some holiday cheer to the community of San Carlos On Saturday, December, 20, 2014 during their annual Christmas Toy Drive.

More than 700 people took part in the festivities at the San Carlos Community Resource Center, which included games and activities, such as face painting and Zumba, delicious food and music by DJ Lucas and La Ley 102.5 radio station. One of the highlights of the day was a visit from Santa Clause and his elves. The children lined up outside the doors of the CRC to get their chance to meet Santa and receive a special gift. One by one they went inside and were personally handed a present and a book by Santa Clause and his elves.

Over 500 gifts were handed out to the children of San Carlos. The presents were donated by the Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers and Sheriff's Office, as well as the Mexican Consulate, the Boys and Girls Club and the Valley Baptist Missions Education Center from Harlingen, Texas.

Thank you to everyone who donated toys and helped make this Christmas holiday extra special!
