Precinct 4 Commissioner Joseph Palacios spoke during open forum to thank the volunteers who worked together to bring Thanksgiving to the community of San Carlos. A dozen volunteers and community organizations helped feed nearly 750 people on Tuesday, November 25 at the San Carlos Community Resource Center. The volunteers included Asocion Liberal Humanitaria del Valle, Pay it Forward, R&R Platinum Productions, Sharyland High School Basketball Team, St. Joseph the Worker of San Carlos, Guadalupena Iglesia Organization of San Carlos, Vino Nuevo Church of San Carlos, Jorge Zapata with Heart 4 Kids, Roy's Barbecue House, Texas Tarps, Texas A&M Colonia Program and volunteers from the San Carlos community.
The four hour event was open to the public. Residents feasted on turkey and all the fixings while they listened to festive music. Residents also took part in a raffle to win turkeys and donated bags of food.
Commissioner Palacios and the Court thanked the volunteers for their time and effort in helping the community celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.
