[ARCHIVED] PRECINCT 4 HONORS SAN CARLOS CRC VOLUNTEERS

Commissioners Court recognized nearly two dozen volunteers who worked at the San Carlos Community Resource Center with Certificates of Appreciation for their dedication to the community of Precinct 4. Pct. 4 Commissioner Joseph Palacios thanked CRC Director Alicia Rodriguez and expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their work during the Summer Program which ran from June 6 - July 30, 2014. During the program the volunteers helped the CRC staff by serving breakfast and lunch, helping with arts and crafts, playing sports, and participating in reading activities with the 100 children who took part in the program.

The volunteers range from ages 16 to 17-years-old and attended Edinburg Economedes, Edinburg North and Donna High School. The students were Pablo Rodriguez, Stephanie Escobedo, Jennifer Quezada, Alma Vasquez, Juanita Negrete, Laura Resendez, Mario Cabrera, German Andino, Elena Andino, Vanessa Miron, Briseida Gonzalez, David Romero, Cesar Romero, Gina Garza, Mari Romero, Rosario Rodriguez, Gabby Gutierrez, Mayra Cabrera, Maria Reyes, Rosalba Cardona, Marcela Quezada, Nancy Hernandez and Odalys Cardona.

In total, the students volunteered 1,348 hours to the San Carlos Community and 5,500 meals were served. The court wants to thank the students for their generosity and dedication to their community
