[ARCHIVED] COMMISSIONERS COURT APPROVES RESOLUTION IN HONOR OF CASSANDRA SANCHEZ

An Edinburg North High School student was recognized in Commissioners Court for being named the "Best Swimmer in the History of ECISD." Along with with that title, Ms. Cassandra Sanchez, 18, has also been awarded a full scholarship to the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Commissioners Court unanimously approved the resolution in her honor. Ms. Sanchez began to swim when she was 6 years old. Over the course of her swimming career, she has earned over 50 medals. Though swimming is her passion, obtaining an education has always been her top priority. While attending high school, Ms. Sanchez attended South Texas College and has earned college credits. Ms. Sanchez also participates in extra curricular activities including, Future Farmers of America and has worked as a lifeguard for two years at the City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Center. Through her committed efforts, Ms. Sanchez has distinguished herself as a vital and valued member of the community. Hidalgo County Commissioners Court congratulates Ms. Sanchez on her remarkable accomplishments and wishes her well on her bright future.
