Accounting Division

Overview

The Accounting Division consists of the Financial Accounting Section and the Grant Accounting Section.

Financial Accounting Section

The Financial Accounting Section is responsible for:
  • Maintaining a system of accounts and records of the County's financial transactions using general ledger accounting
  • Preparing accurate and timely interim and annual financial reports, including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
  • Submitting the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report to the GFOA for review for the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting
  • Coordinating the annual independent audit
  • Forecasting revenues for the annual budget
  • Coordinating various elements in the tax rate adoption process
  • Maintaining records on the County's long-term bond indebtedness
  • Processing bond principal and interest payments

Grant Accounting Section

The Grant Accounting Section is responsible for:
  • Accounting and financial reporting of financial transactions relating to federal, state, and local grants
  • Ensuring compliance with grant contracts
  • Preparing cost allocation plans in accordance with grantor guidelines
  • Preparing the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal and State Awards for the Single Audit
