Overview

A person who has a case pending in the court may not contact the judge directly about the case. The law prohibits communications between the judge and another party without the presence of the attorneys for both sides.

Ex-parte communications are not allowed, except in very rare occasions in Protective Orders and Ex-parte Temporary Injunctions in civil cases, that include business and family law matter.
