Strategic National Stockpile (SNS)

The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Program is a CDC program that provides large quantities of medicine and medical supplies to State and Local Health Authorities to effectively protect the American public if there is a public health emergency (terrorist attack, flu outbreak, earthquake) severe enough to cause local supplies to run out.

The Hidalgo County Health SNS Division diligently works hard throughout the County to ensure local communities and partners are prepared to receive SNS medicine and medical supplies from the state to provide to everyone in the community who needs them during a public health emergency. During a public health emergency, the SNS program will work with public officials, emergency management teams, first responders, community organizations, media, and other affected entities.
