The Hidalgo County Immunization Program provides
vaccines throughout the year to children and adults through federal
& state funded programs and medical coverage/insurances. This
Program also dedicates their efforts to raise awareness and educate
Hidalgo County residents and medical providers on vaccine-preventable
diseases and updates on medical countermeasures. The funded programs
include Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) and Adult Safety Net (ASN).
To receive free vaccines through TVFC or ASN, a patient must meet
eligibility requirements. Medical coverage and insurances that are
accepted by the Health Department include CHIP, Medicaid, Blue Cross
& Blue Shield of Texas, United Health, Superior, Driscoll, and
Molina. If you would like to verify insurance coverage prior to
receiving services, just call us!
Immunizations are offered at
the Hidalgo County Health Clinics and are entered into the ImmTrac-Texas
Immunization Registry (ImmTrac). ImmTrac allows for medical providers,
parents, and patients to view, print, and save their updated
immunization record in an electronically safe way.
