Mission

The County of Hidalgo Purchasing Department’s mission is to:

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws
  • Provide equal access to all vendors
  • Provide an ongoing supply of quality goods and services to all County offices
  • Account for all County assets through an effective fixed asset management system
  • Protect the interests of Hidalgo County taxpayers

MISSION STATEMENT: The Hidalgo County Purchasing Department is committed to procuring goods and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. This is accomplished by the standardization of competitive bidding on the basis of adequate specifications, cooperative purchasing, and a centralized purchasing program designed in compliance with Texas Local Government Code Chapter 262.
